Expodrónica: My impressions of the 2016 edition

Last week I was in the second edition of Expodrónica, a trade show focused on the world of drones and aims to position itself as the European trade fair for this sector. Expodrónica put aim to bring some of the largest manufacturers, distributors and professionals in the most important sector ... but unfinished know who was directed entirely fair: Professionals? ¿Fans? Both of them? Well, I'll be commenting on my feelings using Expodrónica 2016.

The first thing I have to make clear is that I had not visited Expodrónica in its previous edition, but I had a companion luxury Jerocomo, which if it had been the previous year and summed up in one sentence last year: "It's the same but with a line over stands, most of the last year being ". Simple but effective comparison, that of course. From that moment I arrived at least a positive feeling: "Those who come back and want to go over a few others." That's hard in a fair of this kind which, today, has great references worldwide.

Strolling through the different stand what I do not quite get clear was the objective of the fair: Professional Sector who wants to buy drones? Hobby? ¿Users who want to learn from companies doing aerial work? All in one? The truth is that it was all quite confusing, of course, staying halftones in each and every one of the different sections.

A fair aimed at the professional sector of drones?

In the professional section, to call in some way, the truth is that the thing going really well. This was the sector that seemed to have been highlighted, for what was done. All this was topped up putting the show on a Thursday and a Friday morning centered, so ... clearer water. But the thing I want to stay in and I can not because it finally convinced me not as big industry trade show.

I'll remember one thing: this is a fair drones that aims to focus on the professional field. Okay, the premise we have clear, now the following: Where were the drones flying? I spent two days there with my partner the camera and the recorder in hand for interviews who is pass in front of mine. Well I did not get to see flying drones professionals, and that I struggled. There were occasional demonstrations (I caught the Parrot Disco landing and returning Agro DJI new show) ... but that's not the point. The point is to see exposed drones operating in real work situations and can help professionals to opt for one or the other model, beyond the paper characteristics.

It is clear that the location was not the best in the world for the fair, as it was next to a military airbase as told. But there are a thousand possibilities, and the large spaces of the fair carports were wasted, so that could have been used for much of the drones exposed. A fair to show what you can offer the sector and help the purchase of the thousands of professionals who were there and they were doubtful one another models, and why they were there.

A fair to hire services or training?

Maybe this was what was best, and did not need too. There were several companies offering air services of all kinds, as well as training in the field of RPAS. Honestly at this point I think visitors who were seeking services of any kind (for agriculture, recording, topography ...) and those seeking training in the field of quadricopters to measure (certifications, specific uses, adapted to each ... ) they could find a place where many were concentrated in one place where they could solve their doubts. In this great point.

It is ironic that the only products that if more time were flying were those for the hobby. Both Parrot drones (with the Parrot Swing, which has pintaza) that could fly yourself there as displays of some of the most famous and important drivers of the field when racing drones. But outside of the occasional exhibitions of pilots and two drones that could fly continuously Parrot (once you could fly a Phantom, but not continuously) ... the thing was half-hearted. There was a large parrot stand showing their products, DJI taught muscle through its official distributors, Yuneec taught his ground for the hobby and professional ... but not quite seen as attractive for this either sector.

conclusions

Personally I think Expodrónica is on the right track, but has to finish knowing where you want to focus. As the center of the professional world of drones in Europe I think has a great future, although they have to solve a very basic problem: that in a fair drones are no drones flying. Personally I will return next year to keep watching closely as getting better year, because I'm sure they will.

Additionally, if you need to purchase some rc drones or accessories, you can purchase via Banggood website, which is one of the wholesale platform to provide affordable prices, such as paper rc planes, 2205 brushless motor, etc.
